Golf in October is why a lot of crews pick this city, and Scottsdale golf weekend entertainment still belongs in the house after showers, not as a stunt on the first tee.
The air finally cooperates. Courses fill up. The McDowells sit there looking like a postcard. That’s the daytime. Night is costumes, a dinner you can hear, and a living room if you want the Saturday to have a peak.
This isn’t only bachelor groups. Locals do guys’ weekends in October because they live here and the calendar finally makes sense. Same shape. Tee time. Reset. Private hour if you want one.
Be honest about who actually golfs
Ask in writing. Do you want to play a full round, or are you down to hang. If you have four players and four passengers, don’t force a shotgun start for eight. Book a tee time for the players. Give the others a morning at the house or a short walk. Meet at lunch.
If the whole group golfs, great. Book early. October tee sheets are not a walk-up. Play in the morning. Desert afternoons on an exposed fairway will cook a crew that still has Old Town on the list.
Pace of play is hospitality
You’re visiting, or you’re a pack even if you live here. You’ll be watched. Keep up. Limit the beers on the front nine if you want to still be people on the back. The course is not your living room.
Skip costumes on the first tee. Funny hats in the group chat. Collared shirts on the property. Ride-sharing to the course beats eight cars in a lot that wasn’t built for your motorcade.
Don’t freelance entertainment onto a public round. That’s not a product, and it’s not fair to the foursome behind you. Keep the course about golf. Keep the show about the house.

After the round, the weekend still needs a headquarters
Lunch close to the course or back at the rental. Not a three-stop crawl in golf shoes. Then a gap. People will want a nap or a pool. October water in Scottsdale can still be the afternoon. Let them. A performer at 8 p.m. does not pair with a group that’s been in the sun since 7 a.m. without a reset.
Dinner seated. Then home. Our dancers can come in costume for Halloween bookings if that’s the night you want. Say so. Generic look. Path lit. One door person who isn’t still in spikes.
The guys who didn’t golf shouldn’t be punished with a late start because the foursome wanted extra holes. Protect the window. Cut the round off. The desert will still have a course tomorrow.
If nobody golfs
Don’t book golf anyway because it’s Scottsdale. Do a trail, a pool day, or a slow morning and a good lunch. Forcing a sport is how you get a groomsman in a mood until Sunday.
If two guys are obsessed, send them out and let the house be happy. You can toast their scores at dinner without living their round.
I’ve booked enough house calls to know the desert weekend dies when you try to do everything in one afternoon. Golf is the outdoor block. Costumes are the night. That’s a full Saturday. It doesn’t need a jeep tour stacked on top.
Handicaps, rentals, and the guy who last played in college
If the foursome is mixed, play tees-forward, keep skins light, and don’t narrate every swing. Bachelor golf dies when it becomes a seminar. Rent clubs if people didn’t fly with them, and rent from a place that will not eat your morning. The round should start on time because the night is still on the calendar.
Bring a second shirt. Desert golf is dust and sweat. You don’t want that shirt at dinner. You also don’t want golf shoes in a steakhouse. Deodorant in the car. Water in the cart. A time you will leave even if someone wants extra holes.
October light and the McDowells
Late-day sun on those mountains is why people book this trip. Take the photo on the first tee and a couple of the view. Then put the phones away. The pace of play will not recover if you’re lining up eight guys on every par 3.
After golf, the patio at dusk is the reset. Not another beer on an empty stomach in the lot. Food. Shade. Then costumes if that’s the night. Golf and Halloween can share a weekend. They cannot share the same hour.
When the round is the whole personality
Some grooms came for golf and will tolerate the rest. Fine. Then the entertainment should sit on the other side of showers and a seated dinner, not as a rushed hour because someone wanted extra holes. The living room will not wait politely if you keep pushing tee times into dusk.
Some locals only wanted a Saturday tee time and a costume drink at home. Also fine. You don’t owe Old Town a visit because you’re in Scottsdale in October. The mountains already did the postcard. Go home and use the house.
Tell us golf morning when you book so we don’t put a window on top of a scramble in the lot. That’s the whole conversation.
Call Hot Party Stripper at (480) 956-7588 with the tee time and the address so the house call starts after the showers, not after a scramble in the parking lot.
