A private show in Pennsylvania usually happens in a hotel suite or an Airbnb, not in a club you do not control. The entertainment is the easy part once the room is honest. The room is where groups get stuck.
I have booked these nights since 1989. Hotel and rental rules decide the booking more than the costume does. Confirm the property first. Then call me with an address I can actually send someone to.
Ask the hotel before you put a deposit on the room
Suites in Philadelphia, Harrisburg, and the Lehigh Valley look the same in photos: a couch, a table, a door to a hallway. That hallway is public. Keep the door closed. Keep the volume inside. Do not set up a fog machine that dumps into the corridor.
Ask the front desk, in writing if you can get it, whether private adult entertainment is allowed in the room. Some properties say yes. Some say no. Some say yes until a neighbor complains. That call is yours. If they say no, pick another property before you pick a performer.
Space: you need a clear floor and a chair that is not buried in luggage. Suites with a separate bedroom win because the beds become the coat room and the living room stays the stage.
Airbnbs and house rentals
Read the house rules. A lot of short-term rentals ban events, ban extra guests, or ban both. A bachelor party, a bachelorette, or a birthday with a performer looks like an event even when it is twelve friends.
Check occupancy. Check parking. Check whether the listing photos match a room you can actually clear. I have had groups book a “party house” that was a narrow townhome with a stairwell in the middle of the only living space. The show had nowhere to go.
If the house sits in the Philadelphia suburbs, Harrisburg, or the Lehigh Valley, say the town on the call. Travel gets quoted up front. “Pennsylvania” is not an address.
Timing and what to have ready
Give the group 45 minutes in the room first. Coats off. The guest of honor present. Then the knock. If entertainment arrives while people are still in the parking garage, you spend the set doing introductions.
Have a bathroom the performer can use. Have one person at the door. Move the coffee table. Leave a lane from the door to the middle of the room. Put the dog in a bedroom. Ice, cups, and a chair. That is the list.
Guest count is the real planning number. Six people in a suite is one performer. Past ten, two is the usual conversation. Count the adults who will still be there at show time.
Party buses are a different animal
A bus makes sense when the group is already moving. The set is shorter. The ceiling is lower. People are standing. If you want a full living-room show, stay in the suite or the house. If you still want something on a bus, tell me the pickup point and how many people are actually on board. Confirm with the bus company that an entertainer is allowed on. Their insurance, their call.
Halloween traffic and Saturday night traffic on the Turnpike and I-76 are not theoretical. Build a buffer. Do not schedule a jump-on when the group is still at dinner.
Most first-time hosts are happier in a suite with a door that locks. That is the room I would pick if you asked me as a friend.
What I need on the call
Date, start time, hotel name or rental address, city, guest count, and male or female entertainers. Confirm the property allows adult entertainment before you call. You have to be 21 to book. Private parties are 21+.
