If the group is sleeping near Rainey and you do not want another two-hour wait for a table, book private shows near Rainey Street in the suite, then go downstairs after if you still care.
Rainey is loud, short, and packed. I have been booking the hotel version of that night since long before 2007. The groups that enjoy the street are the ones who already had the show upstairs. The ones who start on the sidewalk spend the night in a line.
The suite is closer than the next bar
You can walk to Rainey in five minutes from a lot of those towers. That does not mean the party has to start on the pavement. Get the group in the room. Drinks. The groom actually there. Then the knock. Then you can still hit the street.
Ask the hotel whether private adult entertainment is allowed. Direct question. Some say yes. Some say no. Some say yes until a complaint. I cannot run that conversation for you. The desk can, today.
You need a living room, not a bed with a chair. Luggage in the closet. A door that closes. A bathroom that is not the only walkway. If the “suite” is one room with a king, pick another reservation before you pick a performer.
Female entertainers for a bachelor group
Most Rainey bachelor groups want female entertainers. We book male entertainers too, and both when the room is mixed. If girlfriends are staying for the show, say so. That is a different night than eight guys.
Six people, one performer. Twelve, think two. Count who will be in the suite at show time, not who said they would Uber from Sixth later.
Tell me if it is a surprise. The best man holds the phone. We text downstairs. We do not announce ourselves to the groom in the lobby.
Noise, hallways, and the front desk
Keep the door shut. Keep the speaker inside a volume that does not travel. Do not drag the show into the corridor for a photo. That is how you get security instead of a second song.
Fog in a hotel hallway is a complaint waiting. Skip it. Lamps in the room are enough.
Parking is a garage. Elevators are shared. Build time. Rainey traffic on a Friday is not a theory.
When to go out, if you still want to
After the set. Not before. If you reverse it, you will be missing people, chasing a tab, and calling me from a sidewalk to push the time back. I would rather you pick 9:00 in the suite and a late Rainey walk than 7:30 and a groom who is still at dinner.
What I need on the call
Date, start time, hotel name, guest count, female or male or both, surprise or not. Floor if you have it.
Rainey on a Friday is a bottleneck. Build time into the elevator, the garage, and the last friend who is two minutes away for twenty minutes. I would rather you book 9:15 than 8:00 and then stall in the lobby.
If girlfriends are staying upstairs, that is a mixed room. Say it. We book female and male entertainers. A bachelor suite with partners on the couch is not the same booking as eight guys. Both are fine. Guessing is how the night gets tight.
Do not use the rooftop or a shared lounge as the venue. Public-adjacent space is how you get shut down. Living room. Door. That is the show. The street is still there after, and it will still be loud.
Call (737) 346-6333. Hot Party Stripper has been taking downtown Austin hotel nights since 1989. Rainey is right there. The show does not have to be.
