Edgewater Halloween parties happen in towers, not yards. You are on Biscayne. The bay is the view. The desk is the gate. If the guest list is not at the front, the costume stays in the lobby arguing with a clipboard. Put a name down. Put a unit number. Meet them at the elevator if the desk will not send anyone up after 10.

Units here are mid-size. A living room that looks big on a listing photo still has a sofa, a TV, and a balcony door that eats floor. Clear a path from the front door to one chair. That is the whole stage. Do not ask for a long set in a room where people are already standing in the kitchen.

Group size that fits: eight to fifteen if you actually want everyone to see. More than that and the back row is in the hallway. Halloween weekends fill these buildings with out-of-town friends. Count the people who will still be in the unit at start time, not the people who said maybe in the chat.

Parking is the building’s problem until it becomes mine. Visitor garage, valet, or a street that dies at 9. Tell me which one you have. A performer circling the block in a full costume is how you burn the first ten minutes of a paid window. If the garage needs a fob, someone goes downstairs.

Noise is neighbors through a shared wall. Edgewater is not a detached house. Bass travels. Keep the TV off for the set. Keep the balcony door shut if you do not want a complaint from the unit next door that already hates Halloween. I would rather shorten the set than argue with a board the next morning.

Walkable is a lie after midnight here. People walk to dinner on the boulevard and then they are done walking. The party is the unit. Do not plan a second stop and a second show. One door. One window. If you want two looks, that is two arrivals or a costume change with time on the clock.

Have a bathroom the talent can use without walking through a bedroom of sleeping guests. Have water. Have the overheads dim. Bay windows throw glare. Close the sheers if the building across the water can see in. That is not me being precious. That is you not putting a private show on someone else’s balcony view.

Same-night Edgewater requests on a Saturday in late October are leftover coverage. Towers book earlier than houses because the desk and the elevator make people plan. Call with the date, the building type, and whether the desk closes. If they close, we need a host in the lobby. I will not pretend a costume can talk its way past a locked after-hours door.

Kids trick-or-treating in the hallways is a real Edgewater thing in some buildings. If that is still happening, wait. A costumed show and a candy bowl in the same corridor is how you get the wrong audience at the door. Say when the building’s trick-or-treat hours end.
