Halloween bookings on my line are not a generic costume party. People want a character that walks in, owns the room for twenty minutes, and leaves before the neighbors start texting. Superhero and anti-hero looks do that for mixed groups. The cape or the dark suit is the joke before anyone dances. Guests already know the silhouette, so the reveal hits faster than a plain tuxedo.

Zombies and classic horror play a different game. Those are for houses that already have fog, a playlist, and people who want a scare that turns into a show. A zombie does not need a long intro. The makeup does the talking. Classic horror cloaks work when the lights are already low. If your living room is bright and full of kids’ candy bowls, pick something else.

Cops and uniforms are the workhorse. Bachelor parties book them because the prank is built in. Someone opens the door thinking it is a noise complaint. Then the costume comes off on a timer. Keep the badge fake and generic. We do not send real department marks. Tell us if anyone in the group is actually in law enforcement so we do not make that joke in their house.

Custom requests are normal if you call early. A red tactical suit, a masked figure, a specific color story. I need a photo of the vibe, not a movie still we cannot copy. Trademarked faces stay off the order. We can do the archetype. We cannot do the licensed mask from the store poster.

Which groups book which: bachelor weekends want uniforms and anti-heroes. Girls’ nights often want the horror look or a masked entrance. Mixed Halloween house parties split the difference with one strong character and a short set, not a two-hour hang. If you want two looks, that is two arrivals or a costume change with time on the clock.

  • Superhero / anti-hero: mixed rooms, fast recognition
  • Zombie / classic horror: darker houses, already decorated
  • Uniforms: prank door knocks, bachelor groups
  • Custom archetype: call with a color and a silhouette, not a brand name

Have a clear floor, a chair, and a door you can close. Halloween houses are cluttered. Move the candy table. Tell the group the start time and stick to it. Same-night costume changes on October weekends are coverage, not a plan. If we can do it, we say so. If the roster is already out, I will not pretend otherwise.

Call with the date, the address type, and two costume backups. Halloween Saturday fills. A backup look is how you still get a show when the first pick is already booked. If you are flying people in, lock the costume when you lock the house. Do not wait until the group chat picks a movie character we cannot send.

Parking and building rules kill more Halloween sets than the costume does. A condo with a front desk needs a name on the list. A house with a HOA needs a quieter arrival. Tell us which one you have. We will pick an entrance that matches. Same-day on the Saturday before the 31st is leftover coverage. Book the window, then decorate around it. If two costumes are fighting in the group chat, pick one for the door and save the second for a later hour only if we still have coverage. Stacking two looks on one performer in one block is how the second look looks rushed. Call early in the week if you can. Weekend nights in late October are already spoken for.
